Cute! Funny story, my old horse Oliver got kicked in the mouth as a yearling and lost all but one of his front top teeth so he used to do the same thing! It always amazed me how well he could eat grass. And then, a couple of years after another of my horses Harry was chewing on the wire of his fence (no idea why!) and got it caught in his teeth and had to have two of his front teeth pulled!

WOW. Lol. I’ve answered a couple of these already so I’ll skip those ones :P

Okay here goes!

1. Yes! His name is Spike (Croxley Green) and he is a 16 yr old 16hh bay OTTB. I’ve only just got him so we’re still working out the kinks but eventually I’m gonna event him and do a bit of dressage and SH.

2. I first sat on a horse when I was 4 years old, but only started taking lessons when I was 7. I got my first horse at 12 and started riding competitively then. I’m 22 years old now, so I guess about 10 years?

5. I LOVE thoroughbreds, mainly because I’ve only ever owned them. But I also love Connemara ponies, and I would kill to own a Hano TB cross - I think they make the perfect eventers. 

6. Horse colour? Call my boring but I like bays. Or dapple greys. Anything with cool white markings, too :D

12. I can do more in a saddle.. But nothing beats riding bareback 

13. I get on best with Geldings, but I have no real preference. Stallions are a bit too much work :P

17. Canter, or extended trot. Canter because when you get it right its the comfiest thing in the world. And extended trot because you feel like you’re floating.

22. Hmm. I used to get acupuncture on my old eventer. Does that count?

29. For sure. Most of the time I’d trust my horse with my life but when a horse gets scared and you have no idea what it’s going to do, well thats terrifying. I know this isn’t ON a horse per se but it was horrible - my old horse once got a fright in a float and tried to jump out backwards.. he ended up getting one leg hooked over the back rail and we had to hammer the latches to get them open to let him out. That was probably the scariest moment of my life.

PHEW. 

3. A bit of both really - I have leather reins for dressage and schooling and then rubber grippy reins for XC because I tend to get distracted and let them slip through my hands. 

7. Leather! Nothing beats it when they’ve molded to fit you perfectly.

15. When you blow on Spike’s nose, he’ll blow back. And also if you kiss his nose he licks you. It provides me endless entertainment :D

20. Being selected for my districts team for Timberlands (a two day event with teams selected from all over the country) two years in a row, being made captain in my second year and coming 4th overall :D

27. HELMET ALWAYS OH MY GOD. It drives me NUTS when I see people riding without a helmet. It is the stupidest thing you can do to sit on a horse without one, no matter how good your horse is or how capable a rider you are. 

I evented to pre-novice on my last horse, which in New Zealand is about 1.05m. Right now I’ve just got a new horse, so I’ll be starting small on him
